CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES IN PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING & SPECIFIC LEARNING DISABILITIES

Course Objectives
The six-month course aims at filling the gaps in the theory-centric post-graduate Psychology courses of the country by providing rigorous practical training in the administration, scoring and interpretation of tests, and report generation.
Course Content
Overview of tests and Criteria for selection of tests.
Observation skills for testing, and taking case histories.
The course covers the following tests:

Malin’s Intelligence Scale for Indian Children [MISIC]
Weschler’s Adult Performance Scale for Intelligence [WAPIS-Form PR]
Differential Aptitude Test [DAT] |
| Developmental Scales: |
Vineland’s Social Maturity Scale [VSMS]
Developmental Screening Test [DST] |
| Psychiatric Scales: |
Specific Learning Disability Test [SLD] |
Training in each test would cover the following areas sequentially:

4 hours per week, twice a week |

Career Prospects
This course would equip clinical psychologists with the necessary practical skills to pursue a career in clinical psychological testing in psychiatric clinics or hospitals, or even in setting up a private practice after fulfilling the necessary professional criteria to be a clinical psychologist.
